Tuesday Tabbying

We are endebted to Loyal Reader and commenter 'Purrmonster' for supplying the meaning of 'tabbying' on our Sunday post: 

Wiktionary tells me that a verb "to tabby" (which would have a present participle "tabbying") means to give a wavy or watered appearance to a textile . . . i.e. related to the noun "tabby" which is said textile (watered silk).

Mirsku is very good at tabbying in so many ways - as are some of the other felocrats. Äiti despairs of the watered appearance that is given to many of the textiles in the house. Only it's not water.

And here he's been tabbying away at a golden glacier.

Sunday Scrabble

As Äiti ages disgracefully, she has taken up knitting socks - a fine hobby and it measn we donät have another zillion sweaters we never wear. Aila, also aging, has decided she quite likes the lap provided as Äiti knits, especially as she will randomly swipe at the yarn.

Äiti is also using the laptop to play Scrabble with Spitty's Human and they have quite a battle going on. It's not quite the official Scrabble board and Äiti was really shocked when the dictionary allowed the highlighted word. Is there an official definition of 'tabbying' *? Mirsku just smiled when asked. Äiti was very pleased with the word - not quite so pleased with the letters she got afterwards.

* 'kitteny' was also allowed but 'tuxie' was not. We think the dictionary needs a revamp.
