Saturday Star

Finally Äiti has some decent photos of Kalle. He is doing well, and remarkably calm. His bald patches are regrowing and he is eating well. He uses his box like a good boy (unlike some of the rest of you - Äiti), and he has met us all. His eyes are a bit weird but he seems to cope well enough - he has plentiful active whiskers. 

He has spent a lot of time with me in my private quarters, but he wants to exploretoo. Here he is on the stairs.

And of course the Magic Fish is a hit.

There have even been games involving more of us at a distance, playing together with this wonderful toy. 

Kalle is settling very well. Jaava has welcomed him, and Mesi and Sampo clearly like him. Otso wants to play but is a bit clumsy and scary chasing him. Jura keeps a distance, but he and big moggy cats have a stinkeye thing going on - Otso and he often face up. Papu is pondering his strategy. Apart from a few hisses, there has been no aggression from or towards Kalle and this is Most Excellent. He does not seem to be capable of the stinkeye himself.

The blog is a bit late out today - looking at you Äiti. So we offer two jigsaws - an artified Papu and a bumper puzzle of Kalle. Enjoy!

Moi!  I thank you for the comments following my recent surgery. I've not really noticed much but apparently I am quieter and less playful with the others - the sort of play that ended up with a visit to ystävämme eläinlääkäri that is !  But I am just as handsome as ever of course.

 

Friday Shadow

Otso has become adept at shadowing Äiti around the house. He has become good at blocking her was when she is about to leave the house - especially on work days. She has a new timetable this term and we estimate it will take him just a week to work it out and change his sentry rota !

Jura loves his time with Äiti, and drools all over her. His throat - where he has some nasty tumour lurking - is doing well and he has meds which seem to keep it under control. And his appetite is good. Yesterday he indulged in a lovely sauna - he is a true Finncat.

 

Friday Luxury

 Moi ! I¨m just relaxing and enjoying the week - Äiti has been home on autumn break from work. And it is Friday and she has promised to stay here all day. I shall ensure she does.

Mirsku Monday

Mirsku is also a mighty hunter, but so far Äiti has not seen him catch any squirrels. However, when he does catch something he trots in with the most confident, proud gait Äiti has ever seen. Despite the murder involved, she thinks it is very sweet and would love to get a video. So we have to hunt some more....

This may not be difficult as the squirrels do appear to have a suicidal tendency - they run across the Catio wires and this is indeed worthy of a Darwin award as Summer pointed out in yesterday's comments. They are not the brightest, but they are pretty tasty.

Sampo: I am looking wistfully at the autumn sunshine and feeling it on my face.  Yesterday, we had snow but luckily it melted away. I am happy to wait awhile for winter to come.
