Saturday Stuff

Well, Äiti got given the Best Stuff Ever by one of her students, who is a Loyal Reader. We are very flattered that the Yoofs at Äiti's workplace take the time to read about us Felocrats, and perhaps they can learn from our antics and wisdom. Plus we are -of course - majorly cute.  But for someone to take the time to produce these pictures - well, our collective breath is taken away. Äiti is also speechless - not something that happens often (as her students will agree).

These are two fantastically cute fridge magnets. Aila, as a kitten (and also including her former name Islay, which is pronounced the same as Finnish Aila).  The squeeness of kitten Aila is perfectly captured.  And Papu's stare ! Oh yes - just perfect.  We actually have a new fridge (so it can store more salmon for us), and these are the only magnets on it. 

Many, many thanks to our Loyal Reader, and we will not name them due to respect and confidentiality and all the rest, but You Rock !

And we're back

 Greetings from the Felocracy. We have had a restorative break; I have been in exile in the back bedroom, my very own suite, away from the biteys of others. I can come out when I want, and return, but the others are not allowed. This is thanks to the wonderful Sorting Flap which recognises me, and me alone !   

So I get to snuggle with Äiti overnight, and I am enjoying this rather wonderful cat beddy which we were given for Christmas from a Most Loyal Reader. We are also still feasting on all the treats we had too.

Also we were given this rather wonderful sweater which fits me beautifully. It has a fine Finnish flag on top of it, just right for patriotic felines.

So, all is pretty good here, despite Äiti's dizziness and ongoing depression. We keep her ticking along, but getting her to blog is a bit of a problem. We will try our best to get back to something daily though. 

Wednesday Wow !

Veikko here, with exciting news to report. As you know, there is an area of the Castle where some of us chill out (and escape from the monstrous burmese ninjas). Currently Otso is acclimating well in there, with me. Papu visits. And this had all been arranged using magic magnetic collars and all was well until Jura proved cleverer than many kitties and he would burst in - uninvited. That unnerves some of us. So, Äiti was talking about this with a Loyal Reader and that wonderful person who wishes to remain anonymous (as does her modest kitty), sent us a parcel. We like parcels, and not just the boxes.

 

But the contents looked interesting. What could this be ? And no, we are not being sponsored in any way by the companies which you may see on the blog today. 

We lost interest in the boxes for a while but Äiti got very busy. She wanted the 'ears' on this to turn green as it meant something would work. Luckily, they did.

Then she used her phone and a few of us were introduced to this new gadget, which she has named 'The Portcullis' but we prefer The Sorting Flap. Papu, Seppo, Otso and myself all allow the flap to click open when we approach. Jura is not permitted to pass through The Sorting Flap - well, not legally. If he does manage it then apparently the company can provide an amended door for extra clever felines.

Next she fitted The Sprting Flap where the failed original device was.

I was very curious and of course, it did not take me long:

She gets notifications on her phone - including a little miaow noise - and then this shows on her watch. How amazing ! Now she is really hoping that The Sorting Flap allows freedom for the 'calmer' ones amongst us - i.e. myself and those Felocrats who show me respect ! We will keep you updated with progress reports. 

Merry Christmas!

And today we wish everyone who celebrates Christmas today a very good one. We lucked out big time yesterday with -as Äiti described it -an embarrassment of riches. We recieved two huge parcels with stuff for us: you might spot a couple of things for Äiti but we are the ones who benefitted most. We wish to thank Lilla Ebba's Servant - who also paid us a lovely visit and let us eat his joulutorttua (a sort of mince tart but with plum jam). And as always Ruska's kummi  in Finland(S). Seppo was straight in the new bed - and of course Mesi then occupied it.

And Äiti gor some great stuff to - her friends know her very well!

We'll have more photos over the next few days, but for today we are snoozing and waiting for the turkey to cook.....
