Monday In Memoriam

Yesterday Äiti got the really sad news that  our dear feline friend Spitty had taken his last journey. Our own Punapippuri had made his acquaintance many years ago, and they had been in daily contact through some delightful emails until Punapippuri made his early exit from this earthly realm. 

However, Äiti and Spitty's Human had cemented a firm friendship, and Äiti had seen and heard an elderly Spitty on recent zoom calls, which of course intrigued us as we heard his demands for different food and playtimes.   

We pass on our purrs and condolences to the Human, and have lit a candle on the Catio to guide Spitty up to the realms of the Rainbow Bridge. We shall look for his most magnificent tailio dancing away in the revontulet. And we share this graphic from Spitty's blog as now King Spitty is together with his sparring buddy. 

 

Sad Wednesday

We are really sad to report that Roosa made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge on Monday evening. Äiti is pretty upset as she slept in Roosa's room each night and was kept in order by her yelling and demands. Roosa disliked other felines and was, to put it mildly, feisty with us, so she loved having Äiti all to herself, and Äiti appreciated her snark and paw of control (not forgetting the ever present Claw of Doom which was always extended and swift to swipe).

The photo below was taken on Sunday evening, as Roosa devoured scritches. Äiti had noticed something odd was happening: Roosa was really scared and sat hissing and growling as though her room had been invaded by us, but we were all outside. Äiti realised things were not good so gave Roosa painkiller which calmed her and made her very soppy and purry. However the fear and distress returned the next day, likely bought on by liver failure and the kindest, hardest decision was taken,

For Äiti and ystävämme eläinlääkäri this is the end of an era. About eight years ago Äiti rehomed the 'Muhos Gang' or Rilli, Ruska, Risto-Reipas and Roosa after their lovely human died far too young. Now the Muhos Gang have joined her and we know they are reunited as they should be. Run free, Roosa.
