Monday Milkbar

Papu's little step-siblings are being utterly cute and photogenic. Äiti is assuring us that none is destined to become a Felocrat but she still cannot help but visit them and take photos. So it seems the blog is being hijacked by these little squirts.

Fertile Friday

Papu is proud to announce his Mamma, Lilja, has produced seven kittens over at Kissmollin cattery. All are well and pretty big (over 80g) despite being born a few days early.

And before anyone asks, the Felocracy has no expansion plans right now and Äiti will be happy to visit cute little kittens without bringing any back home. Well, so she says.

Friday Friendship

Today is ystävänpäivä - friendship day - here in Finland.  Much of the human world celebrates Valentine and love and riomantic stuff but those of us who have heard a girlcat in heat don't really think that is something to cheer about.  But we Felocrats are darn good pals (usually) and are here ibn harmony, sitting on Äiti so she also knows how much we like her.
And in the meantime at Kissmollin, the kittens are learning all aboiut being pals while Lilja is perhaps reflecting on her own romantic past......
To all readers, Loyal and otherwise, we extend the paw of friendship and wish you a joyful day with those you like. And a stinky peemail to those you don't.

Whippersnapper Wednesday

I am sure none of us would ever have dared show our mothers the Paw of Nope at 4 weeks old!!!!  Lilja has produced some nippers who are as feisty as she is.

Milkbar Mission

Papu is attempting to keep track of the milkbar. Lilja was hoping for a break.

No, that is most definitely not the place to look !

Now he's on the right track.

And there he stays. Why waste energy going further than you have to ?

Monday Milkbar

The kittens are now three weeks old, and ravenous when it comes to the milkbar (of course). Lilja is patient.
However it appears that young Papu is the bravest and most adventurous kitten, and will seek out sustenance at every opportunity. Lilja is resigned to this.
But he is pretty darn cute.

Monday Mouthful

Now we do find this photo quite funny, so it is allowed here. Maybe we will remind Papu of in later years when he is bigger than us !

Monday Mini-cats

So Äiti went to visit the Little Ones again. Lilja has decided she hates the big camera, so for a while the phone camera will have to do. Luckily Äiti got this shot first.  it is hard to tell the brown ones apart - there are three Neilikka, Pulla and Nuppu. We think Neilikka and Nuppu are in the picture.

And here is Papu. He has one eye open and loks like a little pirate.
And whenever Äiti visits Kissmollin, her socks are thoroughly checked out. Here Annabella (Jaava and Jura's sister) is whapping Burre (Sampo's brother) as she wants a sniff.

Wednesday Wonder

So Lilja looks on as Äiti holds one of her precious little babies. All are doing well. And we are now free to announce that this little sausage of squee is Papu, which means 'bean'. He is a chocolate burmese boy, fourth generation outcross and he will be joining us in 14 weeks. So, we have all been warned .......

Monday Miracles

Yesterday Äiti abandoned us, and I did feel a little worried after I had assaulted her (it was indeed, an accident). When she returned she was grinning away and happy, and we noticed all sorts of smells on her. She had spent the day at Kissmollin, with the breeder of Jura, Jaava and Sampo.  a while ago she had helped with the transport for the 'romantic meeting' of Lilja and stud Kaffe. Well, nature took its course and the result two months later is four new burmese kittens.
Here is #3, who needed a little bit of miraculous resuscitation, but by the end of the day was proving to be quite a bruiser.
This was #1, sleeping peacefully.
And here is proud, but exhausted mother cat Lilja with her four kittens.
Äiti was exhausted when she came back, and full of admiration for Lilja who is a tiny kitty. Her kittens were huge as Kaffe was a big mancat, and it seems she lost about a quarter of her bodyweight in the birthing process.
As for what happens here with perheemme, well let's say none of would be surprised if there were an addition. Sigh.

Shy Sunday.......

This picture was taken at the Kissmollin cattery, where Jaava, Jura and Sampo were born. In the wings is little Lilja, the daughter of Jaava and Jura's half-brother Oscar. She has been yelling the neighbourhood down for the last week or so, and she is  about to launch herself at Kaffe, a handsome brown mancat who has just arrived with the equipment to satisfy her needs. He is right to be terrified.........
