Snowy Saturday

Winter is here, and the white stuff has been falling. Otso braved the depths - he smelt some rodent. As you can see from his skiddy-paw pring he was in a hurry. Sadly, no rodent was found.

This more delicate print was from Papu. He didn't hang around long, and certainly did not let any snow stick between his pawpads.

And as you can see, Otso's paws survived perfectly well, as he had a restorative sleep later.

Frozen Friday

 Winter is coming.....

Sunny Day

We thank you most kindly for the good wishes you sent us - especially Äiti and Jura. While away, the sunpuddles returned to the Catio and we have all been out. Seppo is looking very handsome from a nice warm kitty tree.

Aila and Pekka are braver, and attending the boundaries on mousewatch. There is still some snow and the temperatures are still freezing at night, but we have very early signs of spring.

The bird migration here is at least a month early. And yes, Äiti has been going out to watch the stinky birds. 

We are not in total lock down and isolation here - for which we are very grateful. Äiti is keeping even more of a distance from people and teaching from home (we help, of course). She has been able to visit Kissmollin to see the kittens too which has been excellent therapy for her. 

We hope all our Loyal Readers and their families are safe and well in these troubling corona times.  Paws are crossed for humanity.

Serious Snowday Saturday

Yesterday we woke to a white world. During the day, more of the vile stuff fell and even the birdies were giving it the back of disrespect.

Now back in Britain, robins are birdies which are on Christmas cards but here they are summer migrants. Summer!  Nope, we are currently suffering from takatalvi,  the great Finnish tradition that is the 'back winter' which comes to bite you just when the witner tyres and snow shovels are all safely in the store......

Sampo had the best response as he slept through most of the morning.

Brave Finncats have stepped out into the frozen wastes.

Now we know Aila is in fact a Britcat but she's part of our very Felocracy so we count her as having dual nationality. And she certainly meets the sisu criteria.

 And no one would ever dare question her!
