Yesterday we woke to a white world. During the day, more of the vile stuff fell and even the birdies were giving it the back of disrespect.
Now back in Britain, robins are birdies which are on Christmas cards but here they are summer migrants. Summer! Nope, we are currently suffering from
takatalvi, the great Finnish tradition that is the 'back winter' which comes to bite you just when the witner tyres and snow shovels are all safely in the store......
Sampo had the best response as he slept through most of the morning.

Back winter? We have had that too this year. Mum hasn't even taken the snow brush out of the car yet.

ReplyDeleteUgh! As if your winter wasn't long enough already. It has turned cold here too, but I am glad we rarely get snow. A hard frost is forecast for tonight so I have to get the fleece back out to protect my Jasmine which is in flower. The rest will have to rough it!
