Timid Thursday

Now this is a very old photo from the archives- from June 2005 in England. Harris and Lewis had just been adopted from the local shelter, and they were very scared, hiding under the bed. They stayed there a long time, but that was okay - they needed time.
In the rescue centre (The Moggery, Bristol) they had been in a cage together for about 6 months - apparently two brothers who were 4 years old and brought in because their vile staff were moving house and also wanted some cats who were 'a bit more interactive'. Well, despite a long time in the Moggery, they have had a much better  life now  in The Felocracy, and great adventures flying here to Finland with Äiti and setting up the Catio. Harris left for the Bridge a few years ago, and is much missed.
They were given names 'Harris and Lewis' at the Moggery as the theme when they were taken in was islands, and these are two islands off Scotland. Äiti liked that and next came Stran (short for Stranraer which is a Scottish port - he was called Dan at the rescue centre and Äiti wanted something similar).  And next Islay which is pronounced as Aila in Finnish so the spelling was changed.

Monday Memories

So Äiti has said she's a bit tired and dizzy, so that's her excuse for not taking enough photos of us at the moment. Also, it's dark and dismal outside, and we are all counting down until the solstice when the daylight starts to return, so we agree that it is time to raid the archives to get some photos to cheer everyone up.
This is the first photo of Mirsku. It was taken at Raahe Eläinkoti, when he met Äiti. He came out of his cage and trotted over to the sink, and sat in it.
Within hours he was at the Castle. He disappeared for a while and Äiti thought it was really quiet so went to check his location. She found him Under the Bed, hugging a red kissanminttu toy, kicking his paws in the air. Stoned.
