Social Saturday

 Indeed, there are ripples in the Felocracy. I am with the furries more, and little Mesi has taken to sitting on Äiti's lap and wanting snuggles and scritches. 

And we thought she would make a very fine jigsaw.

Stern Saturday

Otso has trouble fitting on a lap. Amazingly, he adjusted himself to lie on Äiti, exposing his belleh for rubs. He is not too sure about this, but remained like this for several minutes. This is a record for him - he is not known as a softy - as you can see.

Girlcat Wednesday

We Felocrats are mainly male, but we know who have to defer to Jaava who is the boss. Mesi, less than 2kg, is teeny tiny but full of feistiness. However, not enough of it for her to stand up to many of us more chunky boys! However, she knows full well no kitty will wind her up when she is on the throne of Äiti's lap. Especially with Jaava looking on.

Saturday Sharing

Jaava is a great Girlcat. She is the Boss, in a very unassuming way. She befirends all Felocrats, and a swift look from her tells us if we have placed a paw out of line. However she is not aggressive and does not fight  - so Otso does indeed chase her around a bit (he is at least twice her size!). But Jaava is the only kitty with whom Otso will sit close by, and rub heads. And on a very rare occasion they share a lap like is shown here. Otso has come a very long way from the nervous loner he was when he joined us.

Wednesday surprise

A rare event - Mesi gets to feature on the blog. She was on Äiti's lap. This does not often happen as she is very nervous of Otso who will chase her away - not out of nastiness but because he wants to play. However, Mesi does not want to play with him as he is three times her weight. 

But she felt safe enough on Äiti's lap, in a sleeping with one eye open sort of way.

Whiskery Wednesday

Winter continues, with no mousies visible. Papu does not even bother looking- he just snores and lap-surfs. 

 

Warm Wednesday

With snow outside and mousies hiding, it is always good to spend time on a warm lap. Otso is getting used to this, although he dislikes it when Äiti reaches for the camera and the focus is not on fulfilling his need for chin-scritches.

Then The Chomp must be employed.

 

Wednesday Snuggles

Papu has become quite a soppy lap cat, now that the temperature is falling below zero; only Otso goes out daily on Catio Patrol.  Äiti is grateful for the lack of 'presents' from them now. But she is a little fed up with all the teef marks in her clothes!

Weary Wednesday

Seems like a certain young mancat is quite tired after all the tormenting from the local squirrels. 

 

Saturday Sunshine

Papu knows how to tart away and get Äiti's attention.

And it is even better if he can purr away in a sunpuddle.

He luxuriates in the whole process.

And finally he gets artified. And jigsawed.

It is chilly outside. It is also time for Äiti to return to work. Nope.

Otso is insistent - it is his laptime, not Äiti's time to go to work.

 This is the usual arrangement on Äiti's lap when she wants to use her laptop. No chance. And everyone  here was staring at Otso !

Moi ! For some reason, whenever Äiti sits down, there's a dash to her lap. Personally, I like to take my time and decide when I want her lap, rather than hog it the moment it appears. Pekka is usually the fastest. Sampo, however, cares not if the space is occupied and he will muscle in. Pekka is not usually that impressed.

Our plan to prevent Äiti from abandoning us to go to work is in place. So is she!

We're back

We apologise for our absence but we were very much occupied with our visitor, Äiti's best buddy from Bristol days. They met volunteering at the cat rescue that Aila and Lewis came from. We of course made the most of another lap, and someone else to manipulate into providing food and treats.
