Moi ! I like feathers. I have - not yet - had the delight of feeling feathers attached to a living bird in my paws. Pekka and Jaava have told me about it, and one day I hope I will get lucky. Äiti does not like this ambition. Her love of birds is weird - she will go out and watch them. Not catch them, but watch them. She was delighted when this really tiny little brown blob was reported nearby.
Now at the back of the Castle there is a 'great area' for birds, by the lake. The local birdwatching group reported a 'liitle bunting' nearby so she ventured out and on the second attempt saw it -and heard it (a minor miracle given her hearing). Little buntings are rare here. Mosquitoes, however, are not and they welcomed Äiti with great enthusiasm. I still think she could have brought a bird back for me as a souvenir.
Your time will come, Papu!
ReplyDeleteIt is always exciting to see a rarer bird. The mosquitoes not so much.
Papu, I like to go places to see owls, which can be really big birds! I also belong to several bird-watching groups on Facebook, but I never really see many with my own peepers.
