Wisthful Wednesday

Äiti was delighted with this visitor to the garden. Apparently it is a rare birdy which stopped over en route to its summer residence. It is called a bluethroat or sinirinta - aren't humans imaginative ? This is a boy birdy and he was very aggressively defending his temporary territory which was a rich source of food thanks to the human who lives here and feeds all other creatures luxuriously, except for us of course.
We of course could supplement or foods if only the Catio wire were not in the way. Pekka is trying to persuade Äiti to remove it, as the blurry birdie chortles away at its good fortune.

  1. That IS one weerd birdie! BTW, TBT says he used to love blue popsicles in his kitten age and says it was "vanilla".

  2. It is a pretty bird. I remember occasionally seeing them in spring in the garden when I lived beside the creek before I was married. I don't think I have ever seen them here though. I don't know if that is because they are rarer now or prefer the water to the fields.
It is always exciting to see a new bird.
