One Hundred Years On

One hundred years ago, peace broke out across Europe, and not just for a Christmas Day football game. Today we remember with gratitude all those who have fought -then and after -against hate, and we hope that their sacrifice is honoured, and was not in vain. There is too much hate in the world of humans which can stoke up the fires of war. I am very grateful that I have never experienced such conflict, unlike my parents. I just hope future generations also have such peace and unity.  Äiti.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, or the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

  1. For the freedoms that we enjoy due to the sacrifice and duty of our veterans and those who did not return, we are eternally grateful.

We love comments from our Loyal Readers, even though Äiti is really bad at commenting back. But please don't let that stop you......

Saa kirjoitta suomeksikin - Äiti on laiska, mutta on pakko oppia suomea.
