It was bought back when Äiti and her bestest Britpal Carolynand her partner were ona road trip. In the middle of a very empty Lappish landscape there was a quarry with lots of amazing (in Äiti's nerdy opinion) green marble-type rocks.
No one was around, so the quarry was plundered and the Rock of Norway was bought to the Catio. In fact there was no Catio at the time - it was 2009 and all kitties who were outdoors had to have leashes. This did mean they could venture beyond into the garden, but we do prefer our freedom now as we do not need leashes. King Punapippuri here is just a youngster, less than a year old. He was verypleased with his little piece of Norway in his kingdom, and showed it frequent appreciative peemails.
How awesome to have a piece of Norway on your catio!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet photo of the young King!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder of the rock's origins. I do remember now you have refreshed my memory. Ageing brings a lot of need to have it refreshed, and also to leave myself notes for anything important. I agree with Äiti that it is a very nice looking rock.
Why, thank you for that fine recounting of the Tale of the Rock of Norway. Good thing there were three of them--it looks heavy!
ReplyDeleteAh, King P--well, he was more like the Prince of Tails back then! XOXOXO
King P was a handsome boy and the most adorable baby kitten ever. He is lovingly remembered.
ReplyDeleteI too would have filched a beautiful rock...or two!
ReplyDeleteAhh, Angel Punapippuri...look at him as a baby...all that fluff!
